Create Your Mattress
The Tranquility—like all Savvy Rest organic latex mattresses—can be customized for your body with combinations of Soft, Medium, or Firm Dunlop and/or Talalay natural latex. We normally recommend Dunlop, but if you need some added softness, a Vitality topper can do wonders!
Kid Comfort Duo
Soft Dunlop over Medium Dunlop is ideal for most children. Order can be reversed for toddlers, if firmer is desired.
Durable Support
Durable support with minimal “give”. A good firm option for those without pressure sensitivity.
Cradling Sleep
Our Vitality topper can add a whole new dimension to the Tranquility. Here, the plush Soft Talalay topper cradles larger sleepers and eases gently into the denser Dunlop below.
What’s inside a Savvy Rest organic mattress?
Savvy Rest offers GOTS-certified organic mattresses that are safe for your home and our planet. Here’s a closer look at the materials inside our layered natural mattresses.
Natural latex
True natural latex, without synthetic latex or fillers blended in, is simply natural foam rubber. We offer two different types of natural latex: Dunlop and Talalay. Dunlop is denser and more supportive. Talalay offers softness and gentle pressure-relief. (Learn more about Dunlop and Talalay here.)
Our natural Dunlop latex is certified organic in two ways. The rubber tree plantations are certified organic according to USDA standards, and its processing is certified organic to the Global Organic Latex Standard (GOLS).
Our natural Talalay latex has been certified as Cradle to Cradle GOLD, a measure of its health impact, level of material re-use, water stewardship, and social fairness. The latex is sourced from rubber tree plantations that adhere to sustainable forestry practices.
Certified organic wool
You’ll never find chemical flame retardants in our organic mattresses. Instead, we use GOTS-certified organic wool batting as a natural flame barrier. Wool also regulates temperature by promoting airflow, so it will not cause you to feel overheated at night.
Certified organic cotton
We stay away from cotton treated with pesticides since this is harmful to our bodies and the planet. Our mattress casings are made of unbleached, GOTS-certified organic cotton. When you see that GOTS logo, it means that material or overall product has met the most rigorous organic standard worldwide.
Tony (verified owner) –
We searched extensively for a firm Dunlop latex mattress, both online and locally. We almost went with a local vendor, but they just could not seem to come up with the GOLS/GOTS certificates for their “organic” products. When we checked the same on Savvy Rest’s site, the certificate was actually expired, so we raised this to customer service, and literally within a day, they sent us the most recent certificate (it just hadn’t been posted online yet). We had so many questions for their customer service, and they were always, every single time, responsive, courteous, and informative (and this was during the very busy holiday season). When the product arrived, and we opened the bag, the appearance of the latex was clean and bright, and actually smelled like vanilla. This made such an impression on us. The casing was heavy duty, and laid out nicely. We put the bed together and it zipped up very nicely. The bed was firm, but giving, and we couldn’t be more happy. We would have saved a bit of money going locally, but we just couldn’t be sure the latex, the cotton, or even the wool in the tick was organic. We didn’t have a doubt with Savvy Rest, and could not be happier with the purchase. Note that when assembling, we did find a rather large and deep tear in one of the split layers, but Savvy Rest is taking care of that properly as well. We feel like this is a company we can trust to do the right thing.
